Senior figures from the offshore wind industry will meet in Aberdeen and London on the 6th and 7th May as Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) hosts its Wind Insight 2026 breakfast briefings – events billed as a reality check on the investment, infrastructure and policy decisions shaping the sector’s future.

With competition for global capital intensifying and the industry assessing the implications of grid reform, transmission costs and the outcome of the seventh Contracts for Difference (AR7) auction, the events come as offshore wind enters what OEUK describes as a defining phase for the next decade.

The briefings, sponsored by Deloitte, will platform the launch of OEUK’s Wind Insight 2026 report and updated UK Offshore Wind Farm Development Processes Guidelines, offering a fresh outlook on the project pipeline, UK market dynamics and what lies beyond 2030. Together, they aim to provide a grounded assessment of whether current market signals and policies are sufficient to unlock delivery at scale.

OEUK says discussions will focus on how offshore wind can continue to attract investment, protect skilled jobs and strengthen the UK’s energy security, while addressing the persistent challenges of grid access, curtailment and long-term price certainty.

The Aberdeen breakfastCapability & Capacity, will be co-chaired by Enrique Cornejo, Energy Policy Director at Offshore Energies UK, and Susan McDonald, Energy Transition Lead at Deloitte. It will focus on the readiness of the Scottish supply chain and what’s needed to capture opportunities coming through ScotWind and INTOG.

Speakers and panellists include:

  • Ben AndrewGlobal Engineering Director – Renewables, 2H, Acteon’s Engineering Consultancy
  • Susan McDonald,Energy Transition Lead, Deloitte
  • TBA, Flotation Energy
  • Gordon Farmer, Board Director, Global

  • Enrique Cornejo, Energy Policy Director, Offshore Energies UK
  • Thibaut Cheret, Wind & Renewables Manager, Offshore Energies UK
  • Derek Christie, Government Affairs Scotland and UK Locations, Siemens Energy

The London breakfastCapital & Clarity, chaired by Enrique Cornejo, will provide a focus on the investment challenges, policy requirements and market developments vital for strengthening investor confidence and advancing offshore wind projects in the UK.

Speakers and panellists include:

  • Will Apps, Offshore Wind Strategy Director, Marine, Crown Estate
  • TBA, Deloitte
  • Jason Brown, Global Offshore Wind Market Director, Kent
  • Enrique Cornejo, Energy Policy Director, Offshore Energies UK
  • Thibaut Cheret, Wind & Renewables Manager, Offshore Energies UK
  • Tim Pick MBE, Chair, Offshore Wind Growth Partnership
  • Richard Crossick, Head of UK Public Affairs, Ørsted

OEUK energy policy director Enrique Cornejo said: 'Offshore wind is central to the UK’s energy system, but delivery at scale is dependent on policy frameworks that maximise project competitiveness, allocate risk effectively, and provide confidence over grid access, fair transmission charges and firm delivery timelines. Our Wind Insight 2026 highlights the need to cut through uncertainty by being clear-eyed on costs, system constraints and policy signals, so ambition can translate into timely, investable projects. Getting this right is essential if the UK is to continue capitalising on its position as Europe’s leading offshore wind market and secure long-term investment, supply chain strength and energy security.'

Susan McDonald, Deloitte, said: 'OEUK’s breakfast briefings come at a critical moment for the UK’s offshore wind sector, as the industry works to balance rising costs with the urgent need to deliver secure, affordable, and low-carbon energy. Offshore wind plays a central role to the UK’s energy future, but progress depends on clearer project pipelines, scaling infrastructure delivery at pace, stronger supply chains, and sustained investment that creates skilled jobs and manufacturing capability across the country. At Deloitte, we see how collaboration between industry, government, investors, and the community is key to unlocking that progress. We’re proud to support these briefings, which bring diverse voices together to share insight, challenge thinking, and accelerate delivery at scale.'

Across both events, attendees will hear analysis of the global and UK offshore wind outlook, including how developers are assessing risk-adjusted project pipelines and delivery timelines.

Discussions will also examine the impact of grid reform and Transmission Network Use of System Charges (TNUoS), the growing challenge of curtailment, and the long-term policy and price environment beyond 2030.
