- The project has a capacity to export 46.2 megawatts (MW) of electricity to the transmission grid
- The wind scheme will be capable of powering more than 66,000 (1) homes per year.

Uniper has taken the decision to start the construction phase of its first wind farm scheme in East Ayrshire, Scotland. The project has been developed jointly with co-development partner Energiekontor UK Ltd, and Uniper will start the construction process as its sole owner.
The wind farm could generate enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of over 66,000 UK households each year, contributing to the UK’s net zero targets.
Once operational, the wind farm will have seven turbines and a generation capacity of 46.2 megawatts. Construction of the project is expected to start in 2027 with power generation due to start in 2028.
The wind farm was granted initial planning consent by the local planning authority (East Ayrshire Council) in 2022, with a modified application in 2024, following the submission of plans by Energiekontor UK Ltd.
Investments in these renewable developments are part of Uniper’s commitment to invest approximately €8 billion to support its strategic decarbonization efforts and transformation by the early 2030s. This includes a strong focus on expanding its growing European portfolio of solar and onshore wind projects, helping to accelerate the transition to a net zero future.
Uniper is committed to expanding its renewable portfolio across Europe, focusing on the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, Hungary, and Poland. The goal is to develop up to 10 gigawatts (GW) capacity of ready-to-build status projects by the early 2030s.
