The project will provide a new 11 kV point of connection, supplying power at 400 Volts for The Somerset Toiletry Co.’s EV chargers at their site on Upper Bristol Road in Clutton, Bristol. They design, formulate and sell bath and body products, manufacture soap and have a public gift shop and café at the site.

This enhanced infrastructure will provide the necessary power for The Somerset Toiletry Co.’s planned expansion and electrification efforts, enabling the company to reduce its carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency.

The project will feature 2 x 200 kW dual chargers, creating four EV parking bays, with PoGo as the charge point operator. The 1MW sub-station will supply the EV chargers, cafe's expansion and future proof for a planned convenience store.

Vattenfall IDNO will adopt the new grid connection infrastructure, which will be built by econetiQ, including the substation and cables.

Stewart Dawson, Managing Director for Vattenfall IDNO, commented:

'This project highlights the role of collaboration in achieving ambitious sustainability goals. By partnering with econetiQ and supporting The Somerset Toiletry Co. in their journey toward net zero by adopting the essential network infrastructure for their new grid connection, we’re proud to be playing a part in building a cleaner, greener future.'

Freddy Fellows, Project Manager at econetiQ, added:

'We are excited to work with Vattenfall IDNO on this innovative project. The new infrastructure will not only support The Somerset Toiletry Co.’s expansion but also contribute to the broader goal of reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable energy solutions.'

Sakina Buoy, Founder of The Somerset Toiletry Co., said:

'We are thrilled to partner with Vattenfall IDNO and econetiQ to enhance our energy infrastructure. This development is a crucial step in our commitment to sustainability and will enable us to continue producing high-quality products whilst reducing our carbon emissions.'

This development underscores Vattenfall IDNO's commitment to working with various ICP partners and businesses across multiple industry sectors to deliver the essential electrical infrastructure needed to support the electrification of UK businesses and achieve net zero goals.
