A new independent economic impact study has found that SSE's proposed Coire Glas Pumped Storage Hydro project in the Scottish Highlands could support almost 3,000 UK construction jobs at peak, deliver a near £2 billion spending boost with UK businesses, and generate £1.5 billion in UK economic value for the UK, if approved for delivery. -

A new appraisal well in the Afrodite discovery near the Kvitebjørn field shows that the recoverable gas volumes may be more than twice as large as previously estimated. The recoverable volumes of gas and condensate are now estimated at between 77 and 180 million barrels of oil equivalent. -

DNO races ahead on stronger production, higher prices
DNO, the Norwegian oil and gas operator, has announced strong financial and operational results for the third quarter of 2026, driven by the resumption in the Kurdistan region of Iraq production and higher prices across the portfolio. Net production increased 61 percent from the previous quarter to 142,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), of which the North Sea contributed 85,400 boepd, Kurdistan 54,900 boepd and West Africa 2,500 boepd. -

Brazil: Petrobras' own oil and gas production hits a new record with 11.7% growth in one year
In the 3rd Quarter of 2026 , Petrobras' average production of oil, NGL and natural gas reached a record 3.512 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (MMboed), 11.7% higher than the same quarter last year and 5.3% higher than 2Q26, mainly due to the highest level of production efficiency in 8 years, the ramp-up of the FPSOs P-78 and P-79 in the Búzios field, the achievement of peak production by the FPSO Alexandre de Gusmão in the Mero field, as well as the lowest volume of losses due to maintenance shutdowns.
