US: JERA to acquire interest in Haynesville shale gas asset in Louisiana

US: Interior takes bold steps to expand energy, local control and land access in Alaska
Alaska holds some of the most promising untapped energy resources in the US. The Department of the Interior has issued a new record of decision reopening 1.56 million acres of the Coastal Plain to oil and gas leasing. Additionally, the Bureau of Land Management published a call for nominations to solicit feedback on what tracts should be made available in an oil and gas lease sale within the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska this coming winter. -

UK: First offshore export cable installed at Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm
The first of Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm’s two 85-kilometre offshore export cables has been successfully installed off the east coast of Scotland. Inch Cape is owned in a 50/50 equal joint venture by ESB and Red Rock Renewables, and once complete will generate almost 5 terawatt hours (TWh) of energy each year or enough to power half of the homes in Scotland. -

Italy: RWE starts construction of 92 megawatts of onshore wind capacity in Italy
RWE has begun construction of two major wind farms in Italy. The 47 MW Serra Palino wind farm is located in the province of Foggia, in the Apulia region and will consist of eight 5.9 MW turbines. For the 45 MW Venusia wind farm, located in the province of Potenza in the Basilicata region, RWE will install eight 5.6 MW turbines. -

South Korea: Fugro UST21 completes geotechnical work for Ørsted on South Korea’s largest offshore wind project
Fugro UST21 has completed offshore geotechnical site investigations for Ørsted’s 1.4 GW Incheon offshore wind project in early August 2025, located approx. 70 km off the coast of Incheon, South Korea. The project is set to become the largest offshore wind farm in the country and plays a pivotal role in Korea’s transition to net-zero emissions by 2050. -
