UK: New report reveals North Sea revenue drop off as firms flee EPL
New data from the Government Expenditure and Revenue Scotland (Gers) report has revealed revenue from the North Sea has fallen £1.6billion in the space of two years. The figures show North Sea revenue has dropped off sharply from close to £5.5billion in 2023-24, to just under £4.5billion in 2024-25, and most recently to £3.9 billion in 2025-26.

UK: Reinstated wells produced 16 million boe in 2025
North Sea operators produced an extra 16 million barrels of oil from 56 reinstated wells in 2025 as they focused on well interventions which boosted production and efficiency. The success of this campaign has been supported by a significant improvement in intervention efficiency, with the cost per barrel of oil equivalent added decreasing from £9.60/boe in 2024 to £7.60/boe in 2025. A total of 398 well interventions were carried out in the year.

UK: Leading North Sea operators back NSTA well decommissioning charter
North Sea operators have pledged to support an initiative to help them meet their well decommissioning obligations, boost the supply chain and potentially deliver significant savings for industry and taxpayers. The North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) and 17 operators have signed a charter with a set of guiding principles, including working collaboratively to develop a smoother approach to wellhead removals.

RWE delivers strong first-half results
RWE achieved adjusted EBITDA of €3.0 billion in the first half of 2026, significantly exceeding the prior-year figure of €2.1 billion. Adjusted net income rose to €1.3 billion, up from €0.8 billion in the same period last year. Adjusted earnings per share increased to €1.77 from €1.08. The strong earnings growth was driven by robust operational performance across all segments.

The Nordex Group has received orders from the EFG Energy Farming Group for the supply and installation of a total of twelve wind turbines for several citizen wind projects in Lower Saxony. The 'Erlte-Endel' project in the district of Vechta and the 'Bad Essen' project cluster in the district of Osnabrück together comprise an installed capacity of around 82 MW.

DNO reports record revenue as it chases new growth
DNO, the Norwegian oil and gas operator, has reported record second quarter revenue of USD 761 million, up 21 percent quarter-on-quarter, as strong North Sea production sold at high commodity prices more than offset the impact of the production shutdown in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Operating profit increased 55 percent quarter-on-quarter to USD 439 million, while net profit rose 65 percent to USD 83 million.

Ireland: Wind energy planning approvals at highest level since early 2025
Five new wind energy projects were approved in the second quarter of this year, marking the highest level of approvals since Q1 2025, while one project was refused planning permission. The projects will add a combined generation capacity of 311 MW, enough to power just over 180,000 homes each year.
