chevron and JX sign MOU for collaboration on development of CCS value chain

Austria: ADX Energy's Welchau-1 well discovers condensate rich gas
ADX Energy has advised that the Welchau-1 well has encountered 115 metres liquids rich gas column within the primary target 'Steinalm Formation' at a depth between 1452 metres and 1567 metres measured depth (MD). The Steinalm Formation intersected in Welchau is the same zone that flowed condensate rich gas in the nearby Molln-1 well at a rate of 4 MMSCFPD in 1989.

US: Sempra Infrastructure launches Cimarron wind project
Sempra Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Sempra, has reached a positive final investment decision for the development, construction and operation of the Cimarron wind project, the third phase of the Energía Sierra Juarez (ESJ) wind complex. The Cimarron wind project is fully contracted under a 20-year power purchase agreement to Silicon Valley Power for the long-term supply of renewable energy to the City of Santa Clara, California.

Talos Energy announces divestiture of Talos Low Carbon Solutions subsidiary to TotalEnergies
Talos Energy has entered into an agreement for the sale of its wholly owned subsidiary, Talos Low Carbon Solutions, to TotalEnergies for a purchase price of $125 million plus customary reimbursements, adjustments and retention of cash, combined totaling approximately $148 million.

CNOOC Limited has made a major oilfield discovery of Qinhuangdao 27-3 in the Bohai Sea, which adds over a hundred million tons of oil equivalent proved in-place volume. Qinhuangdao 27-3 Oilfield is located in the north-central waters of the Bohai Sea, with an average water depth of approx. 25 meters.

UAE: ADNOC signs second long-term agreement for Ruwais LNG project
ADNOC has announced the signing of a 15-year Heads of Agreement (LNG agreement) with SEFE Marketing & Trading Singapore, a subsidiary of Germany’s SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH, for the delivery of 1 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The LNG will primarily be sourced from ADNOC’s lower-carbon Ruwais LNG project, currently under development.

Africa Oil announces offer to minority shareholders in Impact Oil & Gas
Africa Oil to acquire from minority shareholders in Impact Oil and Gas up to 8.0% of the issued shares in Impact. The Offer is made at a price of USD 0.728 per Impact share, for a consideration of up to approximately USD 64 million, which implies a valuation of USD 805 million for 100% of the issued share capital of Impact. Africa Oil currently holds a 31.1% shareholding in Impact.

Onsite Solar Generation: TotalEnergies surpasses 1.5 GW of PPAs with 600 B2B customers worldwide
TotalEnergies has reached over 1.5 GW of signed renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with over 600 industrial and commercial customers worldwide, for self-consumption on their sites and injection into the grid. Of this 1.5 GW, 1.1 GW is already in operation, producing 1.5 TWh of electricity a year, while 400 MW will be commissioned by year-end.

India: Blackford Dolphin secures drilling contract from Oil India
Dolphin Drilling has announced the award of a USD 154 million drilling contract from Oil India. Dolphin Drilling will deploy the Blackford Dolphin semisub drilling rig to support Oil India's exploration and development activities, with operations planned to commence in the second half of 2024. The contract duration spans a firm three wells drilling campaign over 14 months.

Germany: In-house-developed tall hybrid tower to better boost energy production
In November 2023 the Nordex Group installed the first N163/5.X turbines on in-house-developed hybrid concrete and steel towers with hub heights of 168 metres in a wind farm in Finland. The 168-metres hybrid towers are the tallest the Nordex Group has installed so far. In Q3 2024 the first installation of a further, even taller 179-meter hybrid tower is planned in Germany.
