Norway: NPD reports reduced exploration activity with production maintained for now
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) reports that exploration activity on the shelf has been reduced, and production will be maintained for the time being, in spite of the corona outbreak and the decline in oil price. At the same time, the companies have announced and initiated several measures that could have long-term consequences for production and overall resource extraction.

Zenith Energy completes fully subscribed private placement
Zenith Energy has received conditional approval for the private placement financing announced to the market on April 6 2020 to raise an aggregate total amount of approx. CAD921,000. Egypt: SDX Energy announces commercial discovery at Sobhi well in Egypt
SDX Energy has announced that the SD-12X ('Sobhi') well in the South Disouq Exploration Permit onshore Nile Delta, Egypt, encountered 108 feet net of high-quality gas-bearing sands. The well was drilled on a sole risk basis and management's best estimate is that the well has encountered approx. 24 bcfe of recoverable gas and condensate resources.

Baron Oil and its JV partners have relinquished the Corallian Energy-operated Inner Moray Firth licence Licence P2470, awarded in the 31st Offshore Licensing Round, and which includes Blocks 11/23, 11/24c and 11/25b, following the disappointing results of the 11/24b-4 Wick well and subsequent 3D seismic reprocessing.

TGS announces preliminary Q1 2020 net revenues and business update
Based on preliminary reporting from operating units, TGS management expects net segment revenues for the first quarter of 2020 to be approx. USD 152 million. Multi-client Investments for the quarter are expected to be approx. USD 138 million with a prefunding rate of 61%.

Petro-Victory Energy has announced the discovery of oil at the 1-VID-1-ES (Vida) exploration well located in Block ES-T-487 Espírito Santo Basin, Brazil. The well encountered 49 meters of net oil pay, exceeding Petro-Victory’s pre-drill forecast of 855,000 barrels of mean recoverable resource. The well will be suspended prior to testing.

Norway: Wintershall Dea makes oil discovery at the Bergknapp prospect in the Norwegian Sea
Wintershall Dea has made an oil discovery at the operated Bergknapp prospect in the Norwegian Sea, close to the Maria field. The well, drilled by the Scarabeo 8 drilling rig, encountered an oil column of at least 60 meters in the Garn Formation and an oil column of at least 120 meters in the Tilje Formation.

US: 88 Energy's Charlie-1 appraisal well confirms large condensate discovery in Torok Formation
88 Energy has provided an update related to operations for the Charlie-1 appraisal well, on the North Slope of Alaska. The well penetrated sandstones in seven stacked targets and shale in one target. No flow tests were undertaken but gas condensate samples were retrieved to surface from the Torok formation.

Norway: Wintershall Dea Norge makes oil discovery near the Maria field in the Norwegian Sea – 6406/3-10
Wintershall Dea Norge is in the process of concluding the drilling of wildcat well 6406/3-10 in PL 836 S. The well, which was drilled about 8 kms west of the Maria field in the Norwegian Sea, encountered an oil column in both the primary and secondary targets. Preliminary estimates place the size of the discovery at between 4 and 15 million Sm3 of recoverable oil equivalents.
