US: BOEM highlights role of offshore leasing and planning in supporting record energy production
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management announced today the critical role of offshore leasing, resource assessment and long-term planning in supporting record oil production on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf, which reached more than 714 million barrels in 2025.

Germany: World premiere in Mahlsdorf - The first wind farm with Nordex N175 turbine type goes online.
The UKA Group and the Nordex Group have commissioned the Mahlsdorf wind farm as planned and in full. With an installed capacity of 68 MW, the project sets a technological benchmark for the economical use of sites with medium wind conditions.

bp appoints deputy chief executive officer
bp has announced the appointment of Carol Howle as deputy chief executive officer, effective immediately. Carol will continue to lead supply, trading and shipping (ST&S) and in her new role will also oversee the company’s ongoing portfolio review and strategy development. To support these changes, bp’s strategy and sustainability team will now report to Carol.

UK: Record-breaking stats show renewables generated over half UK’s electricity for the second year running
New statistics released by the Government show that renewables generated a record 52.5% of the UK’s electricity in 2025 - the second consecutive year in which they have exceeded 50%, and an increase on the previous high of 50.4% in 2024.

TNO develops world’s first perovskite solar roof tile
Dutch research and technology organisation TNO has developed the world’s first perovskite solar roof tile. Researchers at TNO have successfully applied a perovskite solar module on foil to a roof tile. Despite its curved shape, the solar roof tile module achieves an energy efficiency of 12.4%. This marks an important step towards better integrating solar energy into the built environment, creating more room for sustainable electricity generation without additional pressure on land or infrastructure.

ABO Energy reaches international project milestones
ABO Energy has recently achieved significant progress in several international markets. In Canada, the company has sold project rights for a 63-megawatt wind energy project in the province of New Brunswick. In Spain, the developer has signed its first Owner’s Engineering contract for a third-party solar project. Germany: DNV advises on TotalEnergies' sale of 800 MW German battery portfolio to Allianz Global Investors
DNV, the independent energy expert and assurance provider, acted as technical advisor to TotalEnergies to support the sale of a 50 percent stake in an 800 MW portfolio of battery storage projects in Germany to Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI). The portfolio, comprising 11 projects currently under construction, represents 789 MW / 1628 MWh of capacity and is expected to reach commercial operation by 2028.

The Nordex Group has received a new order in Türkiye from Balikesir Elektrik Yenilenebilir Enerji Üretim ve Satis A.S., a subsidiary of Efor Holding. The contract comprises the supply and installation of 18 N175/6.X wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 120 MW for the R25-Balikesir-2 WPP wind farm.

Malaysia: EnQuest signs Cendramas PSC in Peninsular Malaysia
EnQuest has announced that its wholly-owned affiliate, EnQuest Petroleum Production Malaysia, has signed the Cendramas Production Sharing Contract ('PSC') in partnership with Medco Asia Pacific and DIALOG Resources. EnQuest will hold a participating interest of 25.0% in the PSC, alongside DIALOG (25.0%) and Medco (50.0% and operator).

US: BLM oil and gas lease sales in Colorado, Nevada, and Utah generate $64.8 million in revenue
The Bureau of Land Management on March 31 leased 136 parcels totaling 131,121 acres in Colorado, Nevada, and Utah for $64.8 million in total receipts during quarterly oil and gas lease sales. Combined lease bonus bids and rentals are distributed between the federal government and state where parcels are located.
