Norway: Equibor and AkerBP announce gas/condensate discovery in the North Sea (25/7-13)
Equinor (operator) and Aker BP (partner) have discovered gas/condensate in the 'Linga' prospect. Exploration well 25/7-13 was drilled in production licence 782 S, 16 kms northwest of the Balder field and 205 kms west of Stavanger. Preliminary estimates indicate the size of the discovery is between 0.1 and 2.1 million standard cubic metres (Sm3) of recoverable oil equivalent (o.e.).

US: Zephyr Energy announces Paradox Project update
AIM-listed Zephyr Energy has provided an update on current activity on its project in the Paradox Basin, Utah, U.S. (the 'Paradox project'). Canada: Questerre wins first bid round for Nova Scotia exploration rights
Questerre Energy Corporation has been selected as the successful bidder in the first bid round under the province of Nova Scotia’s Subsurface Energy Research and Development Investment Program. Questerre is in the final stages of negotiating a Petroleum Exploration Agreement with the province of Nova Scotia covering lands in the onshore Cumberland Basin of northern Nova Scotia. The basin is prospective for oil and natural gas in multiple formations.

Australia: GLNG acquires Meridian CSG project in Queensland and Santos completes Mahalo sale
Santos has entered into a binding agreement to acquire a 30 per cent interest in the Meridian CSG project for ~US$85-$90 million as part of a sale to the GLNG joint venture partners and has completed the sale of its interest in the Mahalo joint venture, valued at ~US$23-44 million.

Norway: Statkraft applies for licence to build new Høyanger K5 hydropower plant
Statkraft has applied for a licence from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) to build a new Høyanger hydropower plant and Breidal hydropower plant in Høyanger municipality. The hydropower plants will replace the existing Høyanger K5A and K5B hydropower plants and provide more renewable power for the industry and increased flexible capacity, without new reservoirs or additional water resources.

Mercuria Energy Group held Phoenix Global Resources has announced that Continental Resources has signed a Heads of Agreement ('HOA') outlining a proposed transaction under which Continental will acquire a 50% interest in Phoenix. Upon completion of the transaction, Mercuria and Continental will become equal owners, forming a 50/50 joint venture operating company focused on the continued development and expansion of Phoenix's position in Argentina's Vaca Muerta.

US: Continental Resources significantly expands Permian Basin position with acquisition of FireBird Energy II
Continental Resources has entered into an agreement to acquire FireBird Energy II LLC, a portfolio company of Quantum Capital Group. The acquisition of FireBird, which owns approx. 54,000 net acres in the Midland Basin, significantly expands Continental's Permian Basin position and adds high-quality, oil-weighted production and development inventory adjacent to its existing operations.

McDermott announces Q2 2026 results
McDermott International has announced financial results for the second quarter 2026. For the three months ended June 30, 2026, revenue was $2.3 billion; adjusted EBITDA was $143 million; and cash flow used in operating activities was $76 million. Net income reached $41 million during the quarter. Backlog at quarter end was $15.8 billion. Trailing twelve months adjusted EBITDA was $519 million.

India: Transocean announces $300 million contract for ultra-deepwater drillship
Transocean has announced a two-year binding Letter of Award for the Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2 with ONGC in India. The campaign is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2027 and contribute approximately $300 million in contract value, inclusive of additional services and mobilization fees.
