UK: Data dashboard expanded to drive decommissioning savings
Cost-efficient decommissioning has received a significant boost with the relaunch of a bigger, better digital data dashboard providing vital information about upcoming work to potential suppliers. The Decommissioning Data Visibility Dashboard now includes field-specific information from 15 operators, compared with three when it was piloted by the NSTA and the Decommissioning and Repurposing Taskforce (DaRT) in November 2021.

Israel: Karish North and second gas export riser online and new GSPA signed
Energean reports that Karish North first gas was safely achieved on 22 February 2024. The Karish North production well is currently utilising the second gas export riser, the installation of which was completed in December 2023. The Energean Power FPSO now has four production wells in operation.

Norway: Wintershall Dea completes successful appraisal of the Adriana discovery
Wintershall Dea and its partners, Petoro, Aker BP, and PGNIG, have successfully completed an appraisal well on the Adriana gas and condensate discovery in the Norwegian Sea. Following the completion of the well, the estimated recoverable volumes for the Adriana discovery have been revised upwards to a new estimate of 28-43 million boe and subsea tie-back options under consideration.

Viaro Energy, the independent British energy company operating in the UKCS North Sea and the Netherlands, has announced that it now holds 100% of licence P.2593 in the West of Shetland through its wholly owned subsidiary, RockRose Energy and is now licence administrator.

Subsea 7 announces fourth quarter and full year 2023 results
Subsea 7 has announced fourth quarter and full year 2023 results. Subsea 7 closed 2023 with a strong operational performance in the fourth quarter, resulting in Adjusted EBITDA of $714 million for the year, up 28% on the prior year. After another year of active tendering, the Group secured $7.4 billion of high quality contract awards, taking its backlog to $10.6 billion, a year end level last seen in 2013.

VAALCO Energy announces acquisition of Svenska Petroleum Exploration
VAALCO Energy has entered into a sales and purchase agreement to acquire Svenska Petroleum Exploration. Svenska’s primary asset is a 27.39% non-operated working interest in the deepwater producing Baobab field in Block CI-40, offshore Cote d’Ivoire in West Africa. The gross consideration for the acquisition is $66.5 million.

BW Offshore announces fourth quarter and full year results 2023
BW Offshore reports Q4 EBITDA USD 91.1 million and operating cashflow of USD 230.0 million. 2023 EBITDA 305.5 million and operating cashflow of USD 558.6 million. BW Offshore continues to progress the Barossa FPSO project, having achieved overall completion of 80% by the end of January, in line with the project schedule. In January 2024, all shares in BW Energy were sold to BW Group Limited, for USD 176 million.

Saipem announces preliminary results for the fourth quarter and financial year 2023 and update of the Strategic Plan
In 2023 the Saipem Group outperformed the targets of the Strategic Plan, exhibiting a year of progressive and constant growth in terms of turnover and margins, a positive cash generation and strengthening of the financial position. Net profit for the year was €179 million. New orders, amounting to €18 billion, confirm the competitiveness of the Group and the positive market context.

UK: THREE60 Energy pens multi-million pound deal with Sumitomo
THREE60 Energy has signed a multi-million pound contract to design and deliver cable storage carousels for the Sumitomo Electric Industries power cable factory in Nigg, Scotland. Earlier this year, Japanese headquartered Sumitomo announced the build of the £200m state-of-the-art power cable factory in the area, which will bring more than 150 jobs to the region.

ABL appointed tow master to Mero 3 voyage
Energy and marine consultancy ABL has been awarded a contract to act as tow master to support and supervise the towage of the Mero 3 FPSO from Yantai, China, to Brazilian waters. Once in Brazil, the Mero 3 FPSO will be installed in the Mero Field development in the deepwater Santos Basin.
