he Norwegian Petroleum Directorate and the Petroleum Safety Authority are changing their names. The NPD's new name will be the Norwegian Offshore Directorate. The PSA's new name will be the Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority.

Equinor is concluding the drilling of exploration well 30/11-15 in the North Sea. The well is dry. Equinor drilled the well on behalf of Aker BP, the operator of the production licence.

BG International, subsidiary of Shell, has signed a Farm Out Agreement with KUFPEC (Egypt) KEL, subsidiary of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC), under which KEL will acquire a 40% stake in Block 3 (NorthEast El-Amriya) in the Egyptian Mediterranean Sea.

GoM: W&T Offshore announces accretive acquisition of producing properties in the Gulf of Mexico
W&T Offshore has completed the acquisition of working interests in eight shallow water oil and gas producing assets in the central and eastern shelf region of the Gulf of Mexico from an undisclosed private seller. The Assets were acquired for a gross consideration of $32 million.

McDermott has been awarded a transportation and installation contract by PRIO (former PetroRio) for the Wahoo field, offshore Brazil. The Wahoo field is located about 19 miles (30 kms) north of the already-producing Frade field in Brazil's Campos basin.

Brazil: Equinor declares commerciality for fields in the BM-C-33 area in the Campos Basin
Equinor has, on behalf of the BM-C-33 consortium, submitted the Declarations of Commerciality and Plans of Development for two fields in the BM-C-33 concession in Brazil’s Campos Basin. The concession contains natural gas and oil/condensate recoverable volumes of above one billion barrels of oil equivalent. The suggested names for the fields are Raia Manta and Raia Pintada.

Norway: Norway's oil production in August higher than the NPD’s forecast
Preliminary production figures for August 2023 show an average daily production of 2,006,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate. Oil production in August is 1.0 percent higher than the NPD’s forecast and 0.2 percent lower than the forecast so far this year.

France: Q ENERGY starts construction of Europe's largest floating solar farm
Q ENERGY has announced the construction of 'Les Ilots Blandin' solar farm in the northwest of France. The solar farm will be built on the site of a former quarry in the Haute-Marne region of France. With 74.3 MW it is the biggest floating PV project in Europe to date. Provisional commissioning is planned for the first quarter of 2025.

UK: HyMarnham Power’s Green Hydrogen Project shortlisted for UK’s Net Zero Hydrogen Fund
HyMarnham Power, a joint venture between hydrogen pioneer GeoPura and sustainable waste processing leader JG Pears, has been shortlisted for the UK Government’s Net Zero Hydrogen Fund.
