Beatrice, Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm, has started generating power for the first time. Following the successful installation of the first 7MW turbine, Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Limited has exported power to the National Grid for the first time.

Iraq: DNO reports payment for Tawke deliveries
DNO, the Norwegian oil and gas operator, has reported receipt of USD 62.33 million as payment for April 2018 crude oil deliveries to the export market from the Tawke license in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The funds will be shared by DNO and partner Genel Energy pro-rata to the companies' interests in the license.

Nigeria's Senate to investigate 'anomalies' in renewal of oil leases
Nigeria's upper house of parliament has said it will investigate anomalies in the renewal of oil leases by the Ministry of Petroleum. Nigeria is Africa's biggest crude oil producer and oil sales make up around two-thirds of government revenue. Oil companies must periodically renew their oil block licences to continue extraction or exploration.

US: Permian region natural gas prices fall as production continues to grow - EIA
The EIA reports that the natural gas spot price spread between the Permian Basin, as priced at the Waha Hub in western Texas, and the U.S. national benchmark Henry Hub in Louisiana has grown considerably in the past year. Natural gas prices at Waha are nearly a dollar per million British thermal units (MMBtu) lower than Henry Hub prices.
