GoM: Helix Energy Solutions awarded significant full-field decommissioning contract in U.S. Gulf of Mexico Shelf Helix Energy Solutions has announced that its Louisiana-based subsidiary Helix Alliance has been awarded a 39-well decommissioning contract in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico shelf. The project is expected to commence in mid-2023. The scope of work includes the plug and abandonment of 39 wells, 15 pipelines and seven structures. |

GoM: BOEM completes environmental review of offshore wind leasing in the Gulf of Mexico As part of the Biden-Harris administration’s goal of permitting 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy capacity by 2030, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has issued a final environmental assessment (EA) on potential impacts from offshore wind leasing on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf in the Gulf of Mexico, a key milestone towards the potential first-ever offshore wind lease sale in the Gulf. |
