Sintana Energy has provided an update regarding the ongoing exploration campaign on blocks 2813A and 2814B located in the heart of Namibia’s Orange Basin, emerging as one of the world’s most prospective oil and gas regions. Sweden: European Energy starts construction of Sweden’s first large-scale hybrid wind and solar farm
European Energy has started constructing Sweden’s first large-scale hybrid park in Skåramåla in the municipality of Tingsryd, where the existing wind farm is supplemented by a solar park. By co-locating the plants, the land is used more optimally, and the electricity can be fed out via the same grid connection.

To support the decarbonisation of local industry in South Wales, RWE is progressing proposals to develop a green hydrogen production facility on its land adjacent to Pembroke Power Station. Technip Energies has been awarded a substantial contract by TotalEnergies and OQ for the Marsa LNG bunkering project located in Sohar, Oman. The contract covers Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of a natural gas liquefaction train with an LNG production capacity of 1 Mtpa.

Brazil: Seacrest Petroleo announces first quarter 2024 production and offtake update
Seacrest Petroleo’s net production of oil and natural gas averaged 8,377 boepd in Q1 2024, 2% higher than the production in the Q4 of 2023, and 3.6 times the production in the Q1 of 2023. Production from the first two infill wells drilled at the Inhambu field has commenced. The Company is in the process of analysing the stabilised production performance and will apply the info to future wells as part of its 300-well infill drilling program, the largest such project onshore Brazil.

A new report published by independent research and business intelligence company, Rystad Energy shows the oil and gas sector’s supply chain possesses between 60 to 80% of the capabilities required to develop the UK’s low carbon energies, but targeted investment is vital to capture the potential of an estimated £150 billion opportunity. The research commissioned by OEUK is in a new report called ‘UK oil and gas supply chain and opportunities in the energy transition’.

Oman: TotalEnergies launches the Marsa LNG project and deploys its multi-energy strategy in the Sultanate of Oman
TotalEnergies and the Oman National Oil Company have announced the Final Investment Decision (FID) of the Marsa LNG project. TotalEnergies had signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Oman LNG to offtake 0.8 Mtpa of LNG for ten years from 2025, making the Company one of the main offtakers of Oman LNG's production.

Namibia: Galp provides update on Namibia exploration
Galp (80%, operator), together with its partners NAMCOR and Custos, has successfully completed the first phase of the Mopane exploration campaign with the conclusion of the Mopane-1X Well Testing operations. In the Mopane complex alone and, before drilling additional exploration and appraisal wells, hydrocarbon in-place estimates are 10 billion barrels of oil equivalent, or higher.
