Norway: Petrolia NOCO awarded 3 licenses in APA 2020
Petrolia NOCO has been awarded three licenses by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. The licenses (PL 1106 20% , PL 1107 30%) are located in the northern North Sea and one operated license (PL 1013 B 60%) in the Norwegian Sea.

GoM: Kosmos Energy announces oil discovery in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico
Kosmos Energy has announced today an oil discovery in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico at the Winterfell infrastructure-led exploration ('ILX') well, which was designed to test a sub-salt Upper Miocene prospect located in Green Canyon Block 944. The well encountered approx. 26 meters (85 feet) of net oil pay in two intervals.

Equinor has been awarded 17 new production licences by Norway’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in the 2020 Award in Predefined Areas (APA) - 10 licences as operator and 7 licences as partner.

Total issues hybrid bonds to finance its development strategy in renewables
Total SE has successfully issued perpetual subordinated bonds in the amount of €3 billion. The proceeds from the bonds will be used to finance its development strategy, mainly acquisitions, in renewables, in particular €1.7 billion for the acquisition of a 20% interest in Adani Green Energy.

Norway: Equinor awards framework contracts for integrated wireline services
Altus Intervention and Archer Integrated Services have been awarded framework contracts for supplying integrated wireline services within well intervention to Equinor’s fixed platforms. The estimated total value of the contracts is close to one billion NOK per year, and the contracts are awarded for a fixed period of around five years from May 2021.

Pantheon Resources has reached agreement with Otto Energy Alaska, a 100% subsidiary of Otto Energy, to acquire its 100% ownership of Borealis Alaska, which owns a 10.8% working interest in each of the 16 leases in the 44,463 acre Talitha Unit, Alaska North Slope.

Australia: Norwest Energy announces capital raising for Perth Basin exploration
Perth Basin oil and gas exploration company Norwest Energy has completed a bookbuild to raise $2million (before costs). Proceeds will be used to fund drilling costs associated with Norwest's 20% interest in the Lockyer Deep-1 exploration well, located in Perth Basin exploration permit EP 368, on trend with three very significant discoveries, and targeted for drilling in H1 2021.

Norway: Archer awarded integrated wireline contract for Equinor
Equinor has awarded Archer Integrated Services, in alliance with Welltec Oilfield Services (Norway) and Schlumberger Norge, a five-year contract for the provision of integrated wireline services in the North Sea. Based on the current operational plans, the total estimated turnover from the contract will be approx. NOK 2.5 billion.

Westmount Energy announces investment in JHI Associates
Westmount Energy has announced that it has purchased 287,500 common shares in JHI Associates Inc. at an aggregate cost of CAD$718,750. JHI is a private, Ontario-registered, company focused on oil exploration opportunities in the emerging Guyana-Suriname Basin. The company's main asset is a 17.5% carried interest in the Canje Block covering over 4,800 sq kms, offshore Guyana.

Russia: NOVATEK increases total hydrocarbon production in 2020
In 2020, NOVATEK’s hydrocarbon production totaled 608.2 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe), including 77.37 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas and 12,237 thousand tons of liquids (gas condensate and crude oil), resulting in an increase in total hydrocarbons produced by 18.3 million boe, or by 3.1% as compared with the twelve months 2019.

Iraq: Genel Energy provides update on Tawke PSC
Genel Energy notes that DNO, as operator of the Tawke PSC (Genel 25% working interest), has issued an update on licence activity. Gross operated production from the Tawke licence averaged 110,300 bopd in 2020, about evenly split between the Tawke and Peshkabir fields, the sixth consecutive year in which gross Tawke licence production has averaged over 100,000 bopd.
