Westwood Insight - Nigeria’s oil and gas sector set to liven up with 140 new wells drilled year-on-year to 2030
Nigeria's newly elected president has made public his administration’s intent to boost crude production from the 1.3 mmbpd produced in 2022 to 2.6 mmbpd by 2027. While Westwood expects there to be growth, this target appears to be overly ambitious. Given the projects on the horizon, Westwood forecasts oil production output of 1.9 mmbpd by 2030.

Canada: Calima Energy sells Tommy Lakes and Montney acreage for A$12 million
Calima Energy has announced the sale of its Montney Assets for C$10 million (A$11.4 million) including 33,643 net acres of Montney licenses/acreage and the Tommy Lakes facilities. The sale has now successfully closed and all cash proceeds have been received from a Canadian Montney natural gas producer.

Germany: RWE builds further solar-storage plant in opencast mine

Harbour Energy has announced its unaudited half-year results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The Company reports EBITDAX of $1.4 billion (H1 2022: $2.0 billion), profit before tax of $0.4 billion (H1 2022: $1.5 billion); loss after tax of $8 million (H1 2022: profit of $1.0 billion) driven by a higher UK tax rate and one-off tax charges.
