Rockhopper Exploration has provided an update in relation to the monetisation of its Ombrina Mare Arbitration Award announced on 20 December 2023. Rockhopper has received €19 million of the €45 million Tranche 1 payment.

Norway: Lime Petroleum in partnership with OMV Norge and Var Energi, has been awarded a CO2 storage licence in the North Sea
Lime Petroleum, in partnership with OMV Norge and Vår Energi, has been awarded a CO2 storage licence in the North Sea by the Norwegian Ministry of Energy. The Iroko carbon storage licence, located in the North Sea about 130 kms west of the coast from Haugesund, will be operated by Vår Energi.

Norway: Six companies offered acreage for CO2 storage
Six companies have been offered exploration licences to store CO2 in four areas in the North Sea. This is the sixth time acreage has been awarded for CO2 storage pursuant to the CO2 Storage Regulations.

Norway: Aker BP awarded licence for CO2 storage in Norway
Aker BP has been awarded a new CO2 storage licence in the Norwegian North Sea, in partnership with PGNiG Upstream Norway. The storage licence is named Atlas and is located in the Norwegian North Sea, near the Yggdrasil area, where the Aker BP-operated Yggdrasil field development project is currently underway.

UK: UK Oil & Gas announces Horse Hill update
In the 2019 grant of planning consent for the Company's oil production at Horse Hill, Surrey County Council (SCC) did not request and consider in their assessment an estimate of the end-use carbon combustion emissions of produced hydrocarbons. Consequently, the Company now plans to work closely with SCC to promptly rectify the situation, either via an amendment to the original 2018 planning application's EIA or via a new retrospective planning submission.

Denmark: Equinor secures exploration permit for CO2 storage in Denmark
Equinor has been awarded its first CCS exploration permit in Denmark as operator, together with partners Ørsted and Nordsøfonden. The partnership will start surveys to assess if the onshore license in the North West Zealand can be developed into a safe CO2 storage facility.

Norway: Equinor awarded two new CO2 storage licenses in the North Sea
Norway's Ministry of Energy has announced the award of new CO2 storage licenses. Equinor was awarded operatorships and a 100 per cent share for the two licenses referred to as Albondigas and Kinno. The new licenses are each expected to have the capacity to store around 5 million tons of CO2 per year when in operation.

Tanzania: TGS secures agreement with Tanzania’s PURA to provide offshore subsurface data
TGS has signed an agreement with Tanzania’s Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA) to manage and license the country’s extensive offshore subsurface data. This collection includes 2D and 3D seismic data covering an area of over 132,000 sq kms. Additionally, it includes support for upcoming licensing rounds, which are anticipated to commence in 2025.

Norway's oil production in May is higher than the Norwegian Offshore Directorate’s forecast
Preliminary production figures for May 2024 show an average daily production of 1,932,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate. Oil production in May is 2.9 percent more than the NOD’s forecast and 2.6 percent more than the forecast so far this year.

Germany: Nordex Group receives orders for 172 MW in Germany
Nordex Group has received orders amounting to around 172 MW for various customers in Germany. The largest of the projects won is being built in Lower Saxony, with the Nordex Group supplying eleven N163/6.X turbines to a wind farm operator from Badbergen/Dinklage, in the districts of Osnabrück and Vechta.

Strengthening the existing relationship with TagEnergy, Vestas has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for the second stage of Golden Plains Wind Farm in Australia. The extension will provide an additional 577 MW, generating a total of 1.3 GW, making it Vestas’ largest ever onshore wind farm.

Norway: Wintershall Dea discovers gas and condensate in the North Sea
Wintershall Dea has made a discovery of gas, condensate and oil in well 35/11-27 S in the North Sea, 100 kms southwest of Florø. The Cuvette discovery was made in production licence PL 248, which was awarded in 1999. The licensees are considering tying the field back to existing infrastructure in the area.

Norway: Equinor drills dry well in the Barents Sea
Equinor’s well 7220/2-2 in the Snøras prospect in the Barents Sea is dry. The well, drilled by the Transocean Enabler rig, is located in production licence PL 1080, which was awarded in the Awards in Predefined Area (APA) in 2020. The well will be permanently plugged and abandoned.

Norway: DNO racks up discoveries in its offshore Norway core area
DNO has announced a gas condensate discovery on the Cuvette prospect in the Norwegian North Sea licenses PL248F and PL248GS in which the Company holds a 20 percent interest. Preliminary evaluation of the discovery indicates gross recoverable resources in the range of 16-38 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe) with a mean of 25 MMboe, well above predrill estimates.
