Norway: Zenith Energy cancels proposed acquisition of Norwegian subsidiary
Zenith Energy has decided to discontinue its plans to acquire a Norwegian oil and gas company, Nordic Petroleum. Zenith will continue with its plans to establish a Norwegian vehicle for intended participation in future licensing rounds in Norway as well as to actively pursue the potential acquisition of mature energy production assets.

Nigeria: Shelf Drilling secures contract extension on the Trident XIV in West Africa
Shelf Drilling has secured a one-year extension on the Trident XIV jack-up rig in direct continuation of its current contract for workover operations offshore Nigeria. The expected availability of the rig is now February 2021.

Australia: Norwest Energy approves Lockyer Deep for drilling in H1 2020
Norwest Energy has approved a joint venture resolution to drill the EP368 exploration well in H1 2020 at Lockyer Deep. The well will be located approx. 15 kms due east of the Waitsia gas field and directly on trend with the recent West Erregulla-2 gas discovery which, as recently reported by Strike Energy, has 2C contingent resources of 1.19 Tcf gas.

Norway: ConocoPhillips granted drilling permit for well 25/7-9 S in PL 917
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted ConocoPhillips Skandinavia a drilling permit for well 25/7-9 S in production licence PL 917. The well will be drilled about 12 kms west of Ringhorne.

Norway: Brage offshore well longest in Wintershall Dea history
Wintershall Dea has drilled the longest well (A36B) ever completed by the company in Norway. Reaching some 9,023 metres from the Brage platform, the well is around 200 metres longer than Mount Everest is tall. The A36B well is also the longest offshore well ever drilled by the new company globally.
