UK: Vestas to repurpose Isle of Wight factory, UK, to manufacture onshore blades
Since 2002, Vestas’ facilities on the Isle of Wight have played an integral role in the manufacture of turbine blades for offshore wind projects across the world. Following an agreement in principle with the UK Government, Vestas intends to repurpose its Isle of Wight factory to build onshore blades, mainly to support the UK market.

Brazil: SLB awarded integrated services contract for all Petrobras’ offshore fields in Brazil
Global energy technology company SLB has been awarded, after a competitive tender, a new contract by Petrobras for integrated services across all offshore fields operated by Petrobras in Brazil. SLB will oversee the construction of more than 100 deepwater wells, utilizing advanced drilling, cementing and drilling fluids technologies on up to nine ultra-deepwater rigs.

UK: Wood to support completion of landmark Net Zero Teesside project
Wood will provide integrated project management services for the next phase of the flagship Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT Power) and Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) carbon capture and storage projects in the UK. This announcement follows the financial close announcement by NZT Power and NEP on 10th December 2024. When complete, NZT Power will be the world’s first gas-fired power station with carbon capture.

ree Energy Solutions ('TES'), a global green energy company leading the way in the production of e-NG (electric natural gas derived from green hydrogen), is advancing its Green Energy Hub in Wilhelmshaven with the development of a liquid CO2 export terminal. Future phases of the hub will introduce an autothermal reformer and a green power producing facility.

Oman: Tethys Oil announces production update November 2023
Tethys Oil’s share of the production, before government take, from Blocks 3&4 onshore the Sultanate of Oman, in November 2024 amounted to 244,545 barrels of oil, corresponding to 8,152 barrels of oil per day.

Denmark: Harbour Energy and project partners announce final investment decision (FID) for the Greensand Future CCS project in Denmark
Harbour Energy and its project partners have announced a final investment decision (FID) for the Greensand Future carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in Denmark. The project will store carbon dioxide from Danish emitters in a depleted oil field under the Danish North Sea. Harbour holds a 40% non-operated interest, alongside operator INEOS E&P (40%) and Nordsofonden (20%).

Saudi Arabia: STATS Group investment in new Saudi base consolidates growth in Middle East pipeline isolation market
STATS Group has announced a significant expansion of its operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, marking a strategic milestone in the company's global growth. With more than $4 million in assets and equipment assigned to Dammam, STATS is now the first Saudi-dedicated hot tap and double-block and bleed isolation specialist and holds the most extensive inventory of large-diameter pipeline isolation equipment in-country.

UK: Shell and Greenpeace agree settlement over dangerous and unlawful boarding of vessel
Shell UK and Greenpeace have settled a legal dispute over the costs incurred by Shell UK during Greenpeace’s dangerous boarding of a vessel in the Atlantic Ocean. Last year, protestors unlawfully scaled a 72,000 metric ton moving vessel and occupied it for 13 days. Greenpeace has now agreed to make a payment to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

Montenegro: Nordex Group receives its first order from Montenegro for 55 MW
The Nordex Group has received its first order from Montenegro. The public utility EPCG – Elektroprivreda Crne Gore has ordered eight N163/6.X turbines. The Delta4000 series turbines are destined for the 55 MW Gvozd Wind Farm near Nikšic in the west of the country.

Taiwan: Ørsted brings in Cathay Life Insurance as investor in Greater Changhua 4 Offshore Wind Farm
Ørsted has signed an agreement with Cathay Life Insurance, the leading insurance company in Taiwan, and its affiliate Cathay Wind Power Holdings, under which Cathay Life Insurance will acquire a 50 % ownership share of Ørsted’s 583 MW Greater Changhua 4 Offshore Wind Farm. Ørsted will continue to own the remaining 50 % ownership stake in the wind farm.

AIM-listed Sound Energy has announced the completion of the transaction for the partial divestment of the Company's Moroccan assets by way of the disposal by the Company of the entire issued share capital of Sound Energy Morocco East ('SEME') to Managem for a total value to Sound Energy of up to US$45.2 million. The terms of the SPA were announced by the Company on 14 June 2024.

UK: NSTA awards Endurance first ever UK carbon storage permit
The UK’s first ever carbon storage permit has been awarded by the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) in an historic moment on the journey to net zero. Norway: Equinor expects the Johan Castberg field to come on stream in January/February 2025
Equinor and its partners Var Energi and Petoro expect the Johan Castberg field to come on stream in January/February 2025. The Johan Castberg FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading vessel) was anchored on the field in the Barents Sea in September. The FPSO has been hooked up to the subsea facility and the project is now in a final phase towards start-up.
