Norway: Equinor reports on cost changes in projects on the Norwegian continental shelf
Equinor reports that, of thirteen major projects that are currently undergoing development or have recently started operation on the Norwegian Shelf, eight of the projects have reduced costs since submitting their plans for development and operation, one project remains unchanged, while four projects have reported higher costs.

Chevron said on Friday it signed an agreement with a unit of Royal Dutch Shell to acquire a 40 percent stake in three deepwater blocks in the Mexican Gulf that the Anglo-Dutch firm won in auctions under the nation’s energy reform.

UK: i3 Energy commences Serenity drilling operations
i3 Energy has announced that the Borgland Dolphin semi-submersible drilling rig has arrived on location at the Serenity field in the UK North Sea and that the SA-01 appraisal well has now been spud. The well is intended to confirm that the Serenity structure is hydrocarbon bearing and that it is a material extension of the Tain discovery which is situated in the adjoining Block 13/23b.

Gabon: Panoro Energy announces substantial oil discovery in Hibiscus Updip sidetrack
Panoro Energy has reported a positive update on its drilling operation on the Hibiscus Updip well ('DHIBM-1'), located on the Dussafu Marin Permit, offshore Gabon. Both the original wellbore and sidetrack have encountered oil columns with excellent reservoir properties and the estimate of gross recoverable oil at Hibiscus Updip is between 40 and 50 million barrels.

Chevron sets new greenhouse gas reduction goals
Chevron has established new goals to reduce net greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity from upstream oil and natural gas. The company intends to lower upstream oil net GHG emission intensity by 5 - 10 percent and upstream natural gas net GHG emission intensity by 2 - 5 percent from 2016 to 2023.
