Germany: In-house-developed tall hybrid tower to better boost energy production
In November 2023 the Nordex Group installed the first N163/5.X turbines on in-house-developed hybrid concrete and steel towers with hub heights of 168 metres in a wind farm in Finland. The 168-metres hybrid towers are the tallest the Nordex Group has installed so far. In Q3 2024 the first installation of a further, even taller 179-meter hybrid tower is planned in Germany.

Namibia: Sintana Energy provides PEL 83 exploration campaign update – new significant light oil discovery and successful appraisal at Mopane-2X
Sintana Energy has provided an update regarding the ongoing exploration campaign on Blocks 2813A and 2814B located in the heart of Namibia’s Orange Basin, emerging as the one of the world’s most prospective oil and gas regions. Operator Galp has successfully drilled the Mopane-2X appraisal well in PEL 83, where it encountered a significant column of light oil in reservoirs of high quality.

UK: Saipem signs Letter of Intent for the development of CO2 offshore transportation and storage facilities in the UK
Saipem has signed a Letter of Intent, received by the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), a joint venture between the operator bp, Equinor, and TotalEnergies, and Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT Power), a joint venture between bp and Equinor, stating that the company has been selected for the award of the NEP and Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT) projects.

UK: Geotechnical surveys underway for Seagreen 1A
The first geotechnical seabed surveys for a proposed second phase to Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm have been completed. The surveys, which were carried out at SSE Renewables’ Seagreen site, off the Angus coast, examined conditions, ahead of up to 36 new turbines being added to the 114 already fully operational. Seagreen, is a joint venture partnership between SSE Renewables and TotalEnergies.

Namibia: Galp provides update on Namibia exploration
Galp, together with its partners NAMCOR and Custos, has successfully drilled the Mopane-2X well to its designed depth, in PEL83. Drilling encountered a significant column with light oil in reservoirs of high quality. The AVO-1 appraisal target found the same pressure regime as in the Mopane-1X discovery well located around 8 km to the east, confirming its lateral extension.

Mexico: Subsea7 awarded contract offshore Mexico
Subsea7 has announced the award of a large contract by Woodside Energy to provide subsea installation services for the Trion development. The project, which Woodside and Pemex are developing in partnership, is located approx. 30 kms south of the US / Mexico border and 180 kms away from the Mexican coastline, at a water depth of 2,600 metres.

Mexico: Vestas wins order from Sempra infrastructure to build a 319 MW wind farm in Mexico
Sempra Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Sempra, has placed a 319 MW order for the Cimarron wind farm in Tecate, in the state of Baja California, Mexico. This is the third phase of the Energia Sierra Juarez Wind Complex that will have a total installed capacity of 582 MW.

Vattenfall InCharge will install and manage up to 35,000 public charging points in the provinces of North-Holland, Flevoland and Utrecht in the Netherlands, with two other operators over the next four years.
