Norway: Maersk Drilling awarded one-well contract for low-emission rig Maersk Integrator under Aker BP alliance
Maersk Drilling has secured an additional one-well contract from Aker BP, acting as operator of the Tambar license, for the low-emission jack-up rig Maersk Integrator. In direct continuation of its current work scope, the rig will move to the Tambar field offshore Norway to drill the K-2B development well.

UK: Fugro starts Vattenfall site investigations at two UK offshore wind farms
Fugro has begun a four-month marine site characterisation campaign for Swedish energy group Vattenfall at two major offshore wind development sites located over 40 km off the coast of Norfolk, UK. The resulting Geo-data from Fugro’s geotechnical investigations will feed into the ground model for the Norfolk Vanguard and Norfolk Boreas wind farms, which will have a total installed capacity of 3.6 GW.

China: CNOOC Ltd commences production at the Luda 21-2/16-3 regional development project
CNOOC Limited has announced that the Luda 21-2/16-3 regional development project, located in Liaodong Bay in the Bohai Sea, has commenced production. The project is expected to reach its peak production of approx. 25,600 barrels of crude oil per day in 2022.

Chevron has entered into a definitive agreement with Noble Energy to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Noble Energy in an all-stock transaction valued at $5 billion. The total enterprise value, including debt, of the transaction is $13 billion.

Front end engineering and design work have been completed to support the Final Investment Decision to upgrade and connect the Minerva Gas Plant to process gas produced from the existing Casino, Henry and Netherby fields in the VIC L24/L30 permit areas held by Cooper Energy and Mitsui Group.

Oil & gas project sanctioning in 2020 set to fall by more than 75% despite activity in Norway, Russia - Rystad Energy
Global project sanctioning is set for a staggering decline this year of over 75% from 2019 levels, as the Covid-19 epidemic has caused E&P spending to drop much lower than what was expected at the beginning of the crisis. Rystad Energy estimates total sanctioning value will end up at around $47 billion, an amount that would be even lower if not for recent developments in Norway and Russia.

Norway's first half 2020 production up on 2019
Norway's preliminary production figures for June 2020 show an average daily production of 1,857,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate. The total petroleum production for the first six months in 2020 is 5.7 MSm3 o.e. higher than in 2019.
