UK: INEOS continues to make good progress towards the restart of the Forties Pipeline System INEOS reported December 26 that the repair of the Forties pipeline at Red Moss is now mechanically complete and pressure testing is well underway. Based on current estimates the company expects to bring the pipeline and Kinneil progressively back to normal rates early in the new year. |

UK: Premier Oil announces Catcher Area first oil Premier Oil has announced that first oil from the Catcher Area was safely achieved on 23 December 2017. Initial stabilised production from the Catcher field will be at an expected rate of around 10,000 bpd. This will be ramped up in phases with production from the Varadero field followed by the Burgman field. |

Egypt: TGS and Schlumberger announce new 2D multiclient project in Egyptian Red Sea TGS and Schlumberger on December 20 announced a new 2D seismic project offshore Egypt. The project is part of an agreement entered with GANOPE in which Schlumberger and TGS have a minimum 15-year period of exclusive multiclient rights in a ~70,000 km2 open area offshore the Egyptian Red Sea. |

Norway sees decrease in November production The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate reports that preliminary production figures for November 2017 show an average daily production of 1,813,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate, which is a decrease of 102,000 barrels per day compared to October. |

Egypt: Eni begins producing from Zohr - the largest ever discovery of gas in the Mediterranean Sea Eni has produced its first gas from the supergiant Zohr field in a record time for this type of field of less than two and a half years. The discovery, which is located in the Shorouk Block, offshore Egypt approx. 190 km north of Port Said, has a potential in excess of 30 Tcf of gas in place (about 5.5 billion barrels of oil equivalent). |

Brazil: Statoil acquires 25 percent of the Roncador field in Brazil and advances its strategic partnership with Petrobras to increase recovery Statoil and Petrobras have agreed that Statoil will acquire a 25% interest in Roncador, a large oil field in the Campos Basin in Brazil. The transaction nearly triples Statoil’s production in Brazil. The total consideration comprises an initial payment of USD 2.35 billion, plus additional contingent payments of up to USD 550 million. |
