UK: INEOS continues to make good progress towards the restart of the Forties Pipeline System
INEOS reported December 26 that the repair of the Forties pipeline at Red Moss is now mechanically complete and pressure testing is well underway. Based on current estimates the company expects to bring the pipeline and Kinneil progressively back to normal rates early in the new year.

UK: Premier Oil announces Catcher Area first oil
Premier Oil has announced that first oil from the Catcher Area was safely achieved on 23 December 2017. Initial stabilised production from the Catcher field will be at an expected rate of around 10,000 bpd. This will be ramped up in phases with production from the Varadero field followed by the Burgman field.

Kazakhstan: Eni and KMG complete transfer of subsoil use rights of Isatay block, Kazakhstan
The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Eni and KazMunaiGas (KMG) have signed the agreement to transfer to Eni 50% of the subsoil use rights of the Isatay block, located in the Caspian Sea, for exploration and production of hydrocarbons.

Australia: Spectrum expands Broadband 3D and 2D seismic coverage offshore Australia
Spectrum has commenced a new Multi-Client Broadband 3D and 2D Reprocessing Project in the Otway Basin offshore Australia. The project focuses around the 2018 Offshore Petroleum Exploration Acreage Release Proposed Areas in the Otway Basin announced today by the Australian Government.

Brazil: Spectrum commences Phase III of the Brazil Santos Campos multi-client 2D seismic campaign
The Phase III survey is an extension of Spectrum’s 2017 Santos Campos Phase II survey, covering an area in the southern Santos Basin. This new data incorporates areas included in the Round 16 licensing proposal, scheduled for 2019.

TGS has announced new multi-client acquisition project, Alonso 3D in the US Gulf of Mexico. Alonso 3D is a multi-client survey of 6,172 km2 located in the Atwater Valley and Lloyd Ridge protraction areas of the US Gulf of Mexico.

Egypt: TGS and Schlumberger announce new 2D multiclient project in Egyptian Red Sea
TGS and Schlumberger on December 20 announced a new 2D seismic project offshore Egypt. The project is part of an agreement entered with GANOPE in which Schlumberger and TGS have a minimum 15-year period of exclusive multiclient rights in a ~70,000 km2 open area offshore the Egyptian Red Sea.

Norway sees decrease in November production
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate reports that preliminary production figures for November 2017 show an average daily production of 1,813,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate, which is a decrease of 102,000 barrels per day compared to October.

UK: UKOG provides update on planned 2018 drilling and testing programme at Horse Hill
UK Oil & Gas Investments (UKOG) announced December 19 that it has been advised by Horse Hill Developments Ltd, the operator of the Horse Hill-1 ('HH-1') oil discovery, that key contracts and the requisite funding commitments are in place to undertake the production flow testing and drilling campaign approved by Surrey County Council in October 2017.

Norway: Statoil submits PDO for Snorre Expansion Project
Statoil, on behalf of the Snorre Unit partners, on December 21 submitted the plan for development and operation (PDO) of the Snorre Expansion Project to the authorities. The investment will increase recovery from the Snorre field by close to 200 million barrels.

Sierra Leone: African Petroleum announces upgraded prospective resources in Sierra Leone
African Petroleum has announced an update to the prospective oil resources at the 100% owned and operated licence blocks SL-03 and SL-4A-10, offshore Sierra Leone. The upgrade in resources takes into account two new material prospects - Leo and Vega - identified by the Company.

Indonesia: EMGS enters into second prefunded multi-client contract in Indonesia
EMGS has entered into a second prefunded multi-client contract in Indonesia, following one previously announced December 19. The combined minimum gross value for the two contracts is USD 2.8 million. The surveys will be acquired duing the period Dec 2017 - Jan 2018.

AWE recommends acquisition by Mineral Resources
AWE has entered into a binding Scheme Implementation Deed with Mineral Resources. Under the terms of the agreement, Mineral Resources has agreed to acquire all of the shares in AWE via a Scheme of Arrangement. The acquisition has been recommended unanimously by the AWE Board.

Egypt: Eni begins producing from Zohr - the largest ever discovery of gas in the Mediterranean Sea
Eni has produced its first gas from the supergiant Zohr field in a record time for this type of field of less than two and a half years. The discovery, which is located in the Shorouk Block, offshore Egypt approx. 190 km north of Port Said, has a potential in excess of 30 Tcf of gas in place (about 5.5 billion barrels of oil equivalent).

Argentina: BP and Bridas complete formation of new integrated energy company
BP confirmed December 18 that formation of Pan American Energy Group (PAEG) has completed. The new company, owned by BP (50%) and Bridas Corporation (50%), is now the largest privately-owned integrated energy company operating in Argentina.

Statoil participates in offshore wind tender
Statoil has submitted a bid in the offshore wind tender Hollandse Kust Zuid area I&II, an up to 760 MW project in the Dutch part of the North Sea. This is the first non-subsidy tender for offshore wind projects in the world.

Brazil: Statoil acquires 25 percent of the Roncador field in Brazil and advances its strategic partnership with Petrobras to increase recovery
Statoil and Petrobras have agreed that Statoil will acquire a 25% interest in Roncador, a large oil field in the Campos Basin in Brazil. The transaction nearly triples Statoil’s production in Brazil. The total consideration comprises an initial payment of USD 2.35 billion, plus additional contingent payments of up to USD 550 million.

UK: Independent Oil and Gas granted extension of the Blythe Licence in the Southern North Sea
Independent Oil and Gas has announced that licence P1736 that contains the Blythe gas discovery has been extended by 12 months to 31st December 2018. The Blythe gas field contains 33 BCF of 2P reserves and is an important part of the combined Blythe and Vulcan Satellites hub developments.

GoM: W&T Offshore's South Timbalier ST 224-1 in the Gulf of Mexico disappoints
JV partner Otto Energy reports that the W&T Offshore operated ST 224-1 exploration well, offshore Gulf of Mexico, has encountered water wet sands in the targeted BN sand interval. The well will be plugged and abandoned.

UK: Statkraft sells 40 per cent share in Sheringham Shoal Wind Farm

Australia: World first for Woodside and ABB
Woodside has formalised an agreement with ABB Australia under which a microgrid solution with a lithium-ion PowerStore Battery energy storage system will be installed on its Goodwyn A platform in the second half of 2018, marking the first offshore application of such technology in the world.
