Although no hydrocarbons were present in the Brasse East prospect, the results of the appraisal sidetrack confirms hydrocarbons within the northern part of the Brasse field, as expected.

02 Jan 19	Cuba: Melbana Energy signs farmout agreement for Cuba Block 9 Melbana Energy has signed a farmout agreement with Anhui Modestinner Energy (AMEC) with respect to its Block 9 PSC in Cuba. Under the terms of the farmout agreement AMEC will fully fund 100 percent of all costs associated with the Block 9 PSC from 1 January 2019, including the drilling of at least three wells.

The field’s crude oil production capacity is estimated at 1.2 million tons per annum.

01 Jan 19	Transocean announces 5-year USD830 million drilling contract with Chevron Transocean has signed a rig design and construction management contract, as well as a five-year drilling contract, with Chevron USA for one of its two dynamically positioned ultra-deepwater drillships currently under construction at the Jurong shipyard in Singapore. The rig is expected to commence operations in the Gulf of Mexico in the second half of 2021.

Shelf Drillings Adriatic-1 jack-up rig is completing the last of pre-existing contracts on the adjacent oil block to the Ororo field with another operator prior to the Sirius work programme.

01 Jan 19	Norway: Equinor completes sales of two non-core NCS assets Equinor has completed the sales of two non-core discoveries on the Norwegian Continental Shelf that were both announced in October 2018. The sales comprised a 77.8 percent operated interest in the King Lear discovery to Aker BP for USD 250 million and non-operated interests of 42.38 percent in the Tommeliten Unit (PL044 TA) and 30 percent in PL044 to PGNiG for USD 220 million.
