Shearwater GeoServices has announced the award of hybrid node and towed streamer seismic survey by Repsol. The project covers approx. 1,000 sq km of ocean bottom and towed streamer seismic on Repsol’s operated block offshore Peninsular Malaysia.

Norway: ODL secures platform drilling contract for ConocoPhillips on the Greater Ekofisk Area
Odfjell Drilling has been awarded the contract for Platform Drilling and Maintenance and Minor Modifications for ConocoPhillips. The contract work includes drilling operations, work-over campaigns, P&A activities and all preventative and corrective maintenance of ConocoPhillips’ drilling facilities on three offshore platforms in the Greater Ekofisk Area.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Aker BP a drilling permit for well 6506/5-1 S in production licence PL 1008. The well will be drilled about 38 kms northwest of the Heidrun field.

Angola: Total acquires interests in two new offshore licenses with a view to developing a new production hub
Total has signed a sale and purchase agreement with state-owned Sonangol of Angola to acquire interests in Blocks 20/11 and 21/09 in the Kwanza Basin, offshore Luanda. The wells drilled so far in the two blocks have produced four discoveries - Cameia, Mavinga, Bicuar and Golfinho - and Total and its partners will seek to unlock the value of these prospects by creating a development hub.

Myanmar: Woodside's A-6 Development offshore Myanmar moves to the pre-FEED phase
Woodside has advised that the A-6 Development offshore Myanmar has moved from the exploration and appraisal phase to the pre-front-end engineering design (pre-FEED) phase. The development, located in Block A-6 within Woodside’s Southern Hub, is being progressed alongside joint venture participants MPRL E&P and Total E&P Myanmar.

US: WPX Energy to acquire Delaware Basin operator Felix Energy for USD 2.5 billion
WPX Energy has announced the USD 2.5 billion purchase of Felix Energy, one of the highest quality Delaware Basin operators. Felix has approx. 1,500 gross undeveloped locations in the eastern portion of the basin, with expected production of approx. 60 MBoe/d at the time of anticipated closing.

Angola: Total extends all Block 17 production licenses until 2045
Total, operator, and its partners Equinor, Exxon and BP have signed an agreement with national oil, gas and biofuels agency ANPG and state-owned Sonangol of Angola, to extend their consortium’s production licenses to 2045. As part of the agreement, Sonangol will obtain an 5 percent interest in Block 17, rising to 10 percent.

UK: 32nd Offshore Licensing Round generates considerable interest
The UK's 32nd Offshore Licensing Round has attracted 104 applications covering 245 blocks or part-blocks across the main producing areas of the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). Applications were received from 71 companies ranging from multinationals to new country entrants.
