UNFCCC and IEA launch new phase of cooperation on tackling climate change
In an important step forward for collaboration among international organisations to address the climate crisis, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) have announced a new phase of cooperation to drive progress on the energy commitments made at the recent COP28 climate summit in Dubai with the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 °C.

The Fugro Pioneer is ready to be equipped with methanol engines after successfully converting the main components on board. Using green methanol as a fuel reduces carbon emissions by more than 90% compared to conventional diesel, allowing clients to run their projects in a more sustainable manner. This vessel conversion is part of Fugro’s journey to reach Net-Zero operations by 2035.

US: 88 Energy provides Hickory-1 flow test operations update
88 Energy has provided an update on its ongoing flow testing operations at the Hickory-1 well within its Project Phoenix acreage located on the North Slope of Alaska. Upper SFS (USFS) flow testing operations at the Hickory-1 discovery well are nearing completion. Results are to be announced once the flow back programme is completed and results analysed, which is anticipated to be at the end of this week.

Denmark: TotalEnergies restarts gas production at the Tyra offshore hub after a major redevelopment
