Cenovus Energy announces first-quarter 2025 results
Cenovus Energy has announced its first-quarter 2025 financial and operating results. The company generated more than $1.3 billion in cash from operating activities, $2.2 billion of adjusted funds flow and $983 million of free funds flow. Operating results in the quarter were strong, with Upstream production increasing to 818,900 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOE/d).

Brazil: Petrobras resumes drilling of wells in Bahia
Petrobras began drilling well 7-TQ-240D-BA on May 9, located in the Taquipe field, in São Sebastião do Passé, about 80 km from Salvador (BA). The start of drilling marks the resumption of well drilling by the company in the state after six years since the last drilling. Petrobras estimates drilling more than 100 wells in the state over the next five years.

Petrobras reports that it has identified the presence of excellent quality, contaminant-free oil in the Santos Basin pre-salt layer, in an exploratory well in the Aram block. Well 3-BRSA-1396D-SPS is located 248 km from the city of Santos, São Paulo, at a water depth of 1,952 meters.
