Japan: MOL, KEPCO sign MoU for joint study of liquefied hydrogen carrier
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and The Kansai Electric Power Company (KEPCO) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the joint study of a liquefied hydrogen carrier. This is the first such agreement in Japan between a shipping company and a power generation regarding marine transport of liquefied hydrogen, which is a key element in the establishment of a hydrogen fuel supply chain.

India: Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and AMPIN Energy Transition expand partnership in India
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through is Growth Markets Fund II ('CI GMF II'), and AMPIN Energy Transition have announced an agreement to enter a new partnership with a view to enable another ~2 GWp of renewable energy projects across India. The agreement enables joint equity investments in excess of USD 300 million thereby creating a renewable energy asset base of approx. USD 1.5 billion.

Germany: Hydro starts battery and solar rooftop operations at Offenburg aluminium plant in Germany
Aluminium and renewable energy company Hydro takes another step towards decarbonizing its aluminium plants by beginning local, onsite solar energy production and energy efficiency measures in Germany. The first systems in Offenburg have been completed and recently began interim operations.

Prosafe has announced an operational update - October 2024
Fleet utilisation for October 2024 was 57 per cent. In October, all operating vessels - Safe Notos, Safe Eurus, Safe Zephyrus and Safe Concordia - achieved 100 per cent utilisation. Safe Caledonia has commenced reactivation activities in Scapa Flow, UK, and will mobilise to the Captain Field, UK, within June 2025.

Tullow secures approvals from its lenders to extend the maturity of its Revolving Credit Facility (RCF) to 30 June 2025
Tullow has sized the facility to $250 million to align with lower headroom needs and to continue to reduce financing costs, with all other terms unchanged. Extending the RCF is a key step in Tullow's refinancing plans. The facility size provides it with its targeted liquidity headroom whilst reducing overall financing costs.

Santos has announced completion of the Angore project in PNG’s Hela Province, which will deliver up to 350 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) per day of gas to support stable, long-term PNG LNG production.

Australia: Santos announces updated capital allocation framework and carbon storage growth target
Santos has announced an updated capital allocation framework that will target returns to shareholders of at least 60 per cent of all-in free cash flow from 2026, following a period of major capital investment to bring significant new production online from the Barossa and Pikka projects. In addition, Santos announced a carbon storage growth target to build and operate a commercial carbon storage business.

Ireland: ESB officially opens its latest battery storage project in Co Cork as part of €300m investment
ESB, Ireland’s foremost energy company since its establishment in 1927, has opened its latest major battery plant at its Aghada site in Co Cork which will add 150MW (300MWh) of fast-acting energy storage to help provide grid stability and deliver more renewable power onto Ireland’s electricity system.

UK: Ocean Winds celebrates final wind turbine installed on Moray West
In the Moray Firth, located in northern Scotland, the 60th and final Siemens Gamesa SG 14-222 DD wind turbine has been successfully installed on the Ocean Winds’ Moray West project. Supplied with 'Power Boost' each turbine can generate up to 14.7 MW output, making them the largest offshore commercial turbines in Europe.
