Denmark: Danish Energy Agency has awarded contracts to three companies for new CCS projects
The fund for negative CO2 emissions (NECCS fund) has been completed, and the Danish Energy Agency has awarded contracts to three companies for new CCS projects. Together, the projects will ensure the capture and storage of 160,350 tonnes of CO2 annually during the period 2026 to 2032. This corresponds to the annual CO2 absorption from approximately 16,000 hectares of forest.

UK: Q ENERGY to construct a 33 MWp solar PV farm in the UK
Q ENERGY has announced that it is advancing with the construction on a 33 MWp solar PV farm ('Whinfield Solar') near Darlington in the Northeast of England. Whinfield Solar will be equipped with nearly 60,000 ground-mounted solar modules and is expected to produce enough emission-free electricity to satisfy the average demand of more than 8,700 households.

Norway: Var Energi confirms new oil discovery in the Balder area in the Central North Sea
Vår Energi has confirmed the discovery of oil in the Balder area in the Central North Sea. The latest Ringhorne North exploration well in PL 956 was successful with estimated recoverable resources of between 13 and 23 million barrels of oil. Operator Vår Energi considers the discovery a potential commercial candidate to be tied into nearby existing infrastructure in the Balder area.
