UK: North Sea data upload will support energy transition - NSTA
The search for carbon storage and windfarm sites has received a significant boost with the transfer of valuable files from the National Hydrocarbons Data Archive (NHDA) to the National Data Repository (NDR). More than 4,000 files, some dating back to 1978, but most from the 1980s and 90s, and containing information about wellbores and seismic surveys, have been uploaded to the NDR and are now available for users including those from industry and academia.

China: CNOOC Ltd makes major exploration breakthrough in Bohai Bay
CNOOC Limited has achieved a major exploration breakthrough offshore Bohai Bay. Longkou 7-1 oilfield is located in eastern Bohai Bay, with an average water depth of about 26 meters. The discovery well LK7-1-1, which was drilled and completed at a depth of approx. 4,400 meters, encountered a total of 76 meters oil and gas pay zones. The well was tested and produced about 210 cubic meters of crude oil and nearly one million cubic meters of natural gas per day, a new record for gas productivity in Bohai Bay.

Azerbaijan: Saipem signs framework agreement with bp for offshore activities in Azerbaijan
Saipem has announced the signing of a framework agreement between BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) and a consortium composed of Saipem Contracting Netherlands, BOS Shelf and BOS Shelf International. Mexico: Woodside Energy awards Trion offshore project to Corinth Pipeworks
Corinth Pipeworks has been awarded a significant contract by Woodside Energy, as operator of the Trion deepwater field, to manufacture and supply approximately 118 kms of High Frequency Welded (HFW) steel pipes. The Trion field is located in the Perdido Fold Belt in Mexican waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

UAE: bp to join ADNOC’s Ruwais LNG development
bp has confirmed that it intends to take a 10% interest in the planned Ruwais liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Al Ruwais Industrial City in Abu Dhabi, subject to obtaining any necessary regulatory approvals. The project will be led by ADNOC, holding a 60% interest, alongside bp, Mitsui & Co, Shell and TotalEnergies, each with a 10% interest. ADNOC announced in June that it had taken final investment decision for development of the project.
