09 Jan 25	UK: CNOOC fined £125,000 as crackdown on excessive flaring and venting continues The North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) has imposed a penalty of £125,000 on CNOOC Petroleum Europe for venting without consent at its Buzzard field, 60 miles north-east of Aberdeen, on two separate occasions in the space of a fortnight. The NSTA has now issued fines totalling £825,000 for flaring or venting consent breaches since late 2022.

Once complete, the Ruwais LNG project will be the first net zero LNG facility in the Middle East.

Utilization of OBN crews in Q4 was strong, with most of the activity focused on acquiring 4D production data in the US Gulf of Mexico. Project delays from late 2024 and into 2025 caused multi-client investment to be in the low-end of the guided range, which also impacted vessel utilization in the quarter. Based on a preliminary financial review TGS expects organic Q4 2024 multi-client investment to be approximately USD 100 million.
