Norway's Petroleum Safety Authority has given Equinor consent for exploration drilling in Block 30/6 in the North Sea. Well 30/6-31 S will be drilled in production licences PL 053 and PL 053C and will test a prospect named Helleneset, which is located on the Horda Platform, around 6 kms from the Oseberg field.

Norway: Equinor drills dry appraisal well on the 35/11-23 oil and gas discovery near the Fram field in the North Sea – 35/11-23 A
Equinor, operator of production licence PL 090, has concluded the drilling of appraisal well 35/11-23 A. The well, which was drilled about 3 kms southwest of the Fram field in the northern part of the North Sea, is being plugged and abandoned as a dry well.

Norway: Zenith Energy cancels proposed acquisition of Norwegian subsidiary
Zenith Energy has decided to discontinue its plans to acquire a Norwegian oil and gas company, Nordic Petroleum. Shelf Drilling has secured a one-year extension on the Trident XIV jack-up rig in direct continuation of its current contract for workover operations offshore Nigeria. The expected availability of the rig is now February 2021.

Australia: Norwest Energy approves Lockyer Deep for drilling in H1 2020
Norwest Energy has approved a joint venture resolution to drill the EP368 exploration well in H1 2020 at Lockyer Deep. The well will be located approx. 15 kms due east of the Waitsia gas field and directly on trend with the recent West Erregulla-2 gas discovery which, as recently reported by Strike Energy, has 2C contingent resources of 1.19 Tcf gas.

Norway: ConocoPhillips granted drilling permit for well 25/7-9 S in PL 917
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted ConocoPhillips Skandinavia a drilling permit for well 25/7-9 S in production licence PL 917. The well will be drilled about 12 kms west of Ringhorne.

McDermott International with its partners, Chiyoda International Corp and Zachry Group, has announced that Train 2 of the Freeport LNG project on Quintana Island in Freeport, Texas, has begun producing liquefied natural gas (LNG).
