The well encountered a high-quality reservoir with approx. 25 feet of net oil pay in one blocky, Paleocene-aged sand with an average porosity of 20%.

PEL 87 is operated by a subsidiary of Pancontinental Energy. Pancontinental has received notification from Woodside that it has elected not to exercise its option to farm-in to the PEL 87 project. A process is underway to secure an alternate farm-in partner to fund exploration drilling within PEL 87 at the earliest opportunity.

17 Mar 25	Norway: Equinor starts gas production to Europe from Halten East Equinor has started gas production from the Halten Øst development in the Norwegian Sea, just two years after approval from Norwegian authorities. Halten Øst is a tie-in field in the Kristin-Åsgard area in the Norwegian Sea. The recoverable reserves from the discoveries are estimated to be around 100 million barrels of oil equivalent.
