Mongolia: Petro Matad announces final results for Y/E 31 December 2023
Petro Matad, the AIM quoted Mongolian oil company, has announced its audited final results for the year ended 31 December 2023. The Company continued to push the Mongolian government and authorities to register Block XX Exploitation Area as State Special Purpose land and secured Cabinet approval for the certification in July.

Colombia: Arrow announces first Ubaque horizontal well results
Arrow Exploration has provided an update on operational activity, particularly at the multi horizon, Carrizales Norte ('CN') field on the Tapir Block in the Llanos Basin of Colombia where Arrow holds a 50 percent beneficial interest. Arrow has put on production the first of four Ubaque horizontal wells planned for 2024.

Timor Leste: Baron Oil provides update on the status of the Chuditch PSC offshore Timor Leste
AIM-listed Baron Oil has provided an update on the status of the TL-SO-19-16 Production Sharing Contract ('Chuditch PSC'), offshore Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. The PSC has entered Contract Year Three, which contains a commitment to drill an appraisal well on the Chuditch gas field. The Company continues its discussions with additional potential funding partners regarding participation in the drilling of the appraisal well.

Malaysia: PETRONAS awards Late Life Asset PSC for production continuity of the Banang field
PETRONAS, through Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM) recently awarded a Late Life Asset Production Sharing Contract (LLA PSC) for the Banang field, located offshore Peninsular Malaysia, to Petra Energy Development, a wholly owned subsidiary of Petra Energy, the operator of the field with 100 percent participating interest.

Spain: Nordex Electrolyzers develops the first prototype of a 500-kW pressurized alkaline electrolyzer
On June 17, 2024, Nordex Electrolyzers – a joint venture between the Government of Navarra and Nordex Group, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of wind turbines, inaugurated a test bench in its plant at Lumbier. The company presented its first in-house-developed prototype of a 500-kW pressurized alkaline electrolyzer to the public.

Portugal: Iberdrola obtains final environmental authorisation to build Portugal's largest wind farm
Iberdrola obtained the final environmental approval from the Portuguese government to build the country's largest wind farm. The new wind farm will have a capacity of 274 MW, equivalent to the consumption of 128,000 households, and will be built in the town of Vila Real, in Braga.

UK: Costain selected to conduct pioneering transport study into use of hydrogen refuelling stations
Costain, the infrastructure solutions company, has been selected by Wales & West Utilities to lead a study exploring how hydrogen refuelling stations can be integrated into the UK’s existing gas network. The research, funded by Ofgem, will explore the potential of using the UK’s natural gas network – which provides energy to homes, businesses, and large industry - as hydrogen fuelling infrastructure in anticipation of increased demand for zero emissions vehicles.

Norway: Var Energi extends gas sales agreement with VNG for an additional 12 years
Vår Energi has extended the long-term agreement for delivery of up to five billion cubic meters (bcm) natural gas to VNG over a 12-year period. The agreement builds on the long-standing relationship between Vår Energi and VNG, dating back to the early 1990s.

Global offshore wind capacity increases by more than a fifth over last year, reaching 75GW milestone
A new report published today by RenewableUK shows that global offshore wind operational capacity has increased by 21% over the last 12 months, from 61.5 gigawatts a year ago to 75GW today. The new capacity added over the past year generates enough electricity to power the equivalent of more than 14 million UK homes all year round.

Vestas signs conditional agreement with Vattenfall and BASF for the Nordlicht projects in the German Northsea
Vestas has secured a conditional agreement to supply 112 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines for Vattenfall’s and BASF’s Nordlicht 1 and 2 offshore wind projects. The Nordlicht wind farm area is located 85 kilometres north off the island of Borkum in the German North Sea and consists of two separate locations: Nordlicht 1 and Nordlicht 2.

Shell signs agreement to acquire Pavilion Energy
Shell has reached an agreement with Carne Investments, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Temasek, to acquire 100% of the shares in Pavilion Energy. Pavilion Energy includes a global liquefied natural gas (LNG) trading business with a contracted supply volume comprising about 6.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).

Australia: Comet Ridge increases position in Mahalo Gas Hub with new block win
Comet Ridge has been selected by the Queensland Government as preferred tenderer for an additional gas block in the Mahalo Gas Hub area. Comet Ridge will be Operator of the new block on a 100% equity basis, which is located immediately north of Mahalo East (ATP 2061) and west of Mahalo Far East (ATP 2063).
