Peru: PetroTal announces fully funded 2020 Capital Budget of US$99 million
PetroTal, the Peruvian focused E&P company, has announced its 2020 capital program of US$99 million, expected to be fully funded with funds generated from operations and existing cash resources. The capital program will allow PetroTal to become a free cash-flowing company and reach 20,000 bopd from the Bretana oil field before year-end 2020.

BHP announces operational review for half year ended 31 December 2019
BHP has announced an operational review for the half year ended 31 December 2019. Total petroleum production decreased by nine per cent to 57MMboe. Guidance for the 2020 financial year remains unchanged at between 110 and 116 MMboe, with volumes expected to be towards the lower end of the guidance range.

UAE: SNC-Lavalin awarded contract for second phase of the Haliba field
SNC-Lavalin has been awarded an engineering services contract from Al Dhafra Petroleum, a joint venture company between ADNOC and the Korea National Oil Corp and GS Energy. Under the nine-month agreement, SNC-Lavalin will provide front-end engineering and design (FEED) services for the second phase of the Haliba field.

Norway: Maersk Drilling awarded two-well contract extension for low-emission rig Maersk Integrator under Aker BP alliance
Maersk Drilling has secured a two-well contract extension from Aker BP for the ultra-harsh environment, low-emission jack-up rig Maersk Integrator. In direct continuation of the rig’s current workscope, Maersk Integrator will move to the Ivar Aasen field offshore Norway to drill two wells, with work expected to commence in October 2020.

Canada: IPC announces acquisition of light oil assets in Southern Alberta
International Petroleum Corp (IPC) has entered into an agreement to acquire Granite Oil Corp for total equity and debt consideration of approx. USD 59 million. The Acquisition is comprised of high netback, light oil producing assets in the Milk River area of Alberta, located southwest of IPC’s existing operations in the Suffield area, just north of the US border.

Qatar: Total to develop Qatar’s first large-scale (800 MWp) solar plant
Total has entered into agreements for the development of the Al Kharsaah Solar PV IPP Project, a 800 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar plant that will be located 80 kms west of Doha, Qatar. The project was awarded to a consortium of Total and Marubeni as the result of the country’s first solar tender.

Argentina: Echo Energy provides Santa Cruz Sur operational update
Echo Energy has announced that the Campo Limite exploration well (CLix-1001) in the Palermo Aike concession of Santa Cruz Sur has been drilled to a total measured depth of 2,247 metres and wireline logging has now been completed. On the basis of encouraging initial data from drilling and logging operations a decision has been made to test the well.

Metgasco has executed a re-stated L14 Western Flank farm-out agreement with RCMA Australia and Vintage Energy, which commits Metgasco and Vintage to drilling, in Q3 CY2020, the highly prospective 3D seismically defined Cervantes oil prospect in the Western Flank area of the L14 production licence in the northern onshore Perth Basin.

Gazprom Neft and Shell have agreed to expand their JV Salym Petroleum Development. The company’s portfolio of assets will include a license for the right to geological survey, exploration and production of conventional hydrocarbon reserves of the Salymsky 2 block in the Khanty Mansiisk Autonomous Region.

Schlumberger on Jan 17 reported results for full-year 2019 and the fourth quarter of 2019. Full-year worldwide revenue of $32.9 billion was flat year-on-year, with international revenue growth of 7 percent.

Lebanon’s Ministry of Energy and Water and the Lebanese Petroleum Administration have announced an extension of the application deadline for the 2nd Offshore Licensing Round. Companies are invited to submit their applications for Blocks 1, 2, 5, 8 and 10 before the 30th April 2020.

Norway: Chrysaor awarded 8 licences in Norway in APA 2019
Chrysaor Norge was awarded a total of eight licences with a variety of work programs, including a firm well and a number of drill-or-drop commitments. The licences cover a number of discoveries and play types with some located along the median line, close to existing Chrysaor infrastructure in the UK.

Norway's production increases in December 2019
Norway's preliminary production figures for December 2019 show an average daily production of 2,082000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate, which is an increase of 95,000 barrels per day compared to November.

Angola: Eni starts production at Agogo oil field, offshore Angola
Eni reports the start-up of its offshore Agogo oil field, situated in the 15/06 Block in the Angolan waters. The start-up takes place just nine months after its discovery thanks to the operational synergies facilitated by the Ngoma, West Hub production centre, situated 15km from the oil field.

UK: RockRose Energy transfers operatorship of the Brae Area to TAQA Bratani
RockRose Energy has announced that, subject to receipt of approval by the Secretary of State, it will be passing operatorship of the Brae Area to TAQA Bratani. This follows court proceedings brought by TAQA and the other JV partners, JX Nippon and Spirit Energy, in December 2019. The proceedings related to the notice of discharge served on Marathon Oil UK as operator.
