US: BOEM approves Hilcorp's Cook Inlet geophysical survey
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has approved a permit from Hilcorp Alaska to conduct a geophysical survey in the federal waters of Cook Inlet, off the coast of Southcentral Alaska. The area to be surveyed is in the lower Cook Inlet, west of Kachemak Bay and includes 14 Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) blocks acquired in Lease Sale 244.

Norway: Equinor announces new light oil discovery in the Barents Sea
Equinor and partners OMV and Petoro have made an oil discovery in the Sputnik exploration well in the Barents Sea. Recoverable resources are preliminarily estimated at 20-65 million barrels of oil. The Sputnik well was drilled in licence PL855, approx. 30 kms North East of the Wisting discovery.

Aker BP, operator of production licence PL 762, has concluded the drilling of wildcat well 6608/6-1. The well, which was drilled about 65 kms northeast of the Norne field, is being permanently plugged and abandoned as a dry hole.

Angus Energy has announced that, in respect of its conditional acquisition of a 51 percent interest in the Saltfleetby gas field, it has been advised by Saltfleetby Energy that the latter has begun the process of submitting its application to the Oil & Gas Authority for a Transfer of an Interest in the Saltfleetby Licence and Operatorship thereof to Angus Energy.

Iraq: Gazprom Neft produces its 100 millionth barrel of oil at the Badra field
Gazprom Neft subsidiary Gazpromneft-Badra has now produced 13.5 million tonnes - or 100 million barrels - of oil at the Badra field in the five years since the field went into commercial operation. The first shipment of liquid took place in 2014.

GoM: Equinor completes acquisition of Caesar Tonga oil field interest from Shell in Gulf of Mexico
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has approved Equinor and Shell’s transaction announced in May 2019, whereby Equinor exercised its preferential right to acquire 22.45 percent interest in the Caesar Tonga oil field from Shell Offshore Inc for a total consideration of USD 965 million in cash.
