UK: Eku Energy breaks ground at battery storage projects in Essex and Buckinghamshire
Global energy storage developer Eku Energy has broken ground at two new UK battery storage projects in Basildon, Essex and Loudwater, Buckinghamshire, together representing 130MWh of installed capacity. The projects will be built using NHOA Energy’s battery energy storage systems, marking the company’s entry into the UK market, and are expected to be operational by the end of 2024.

UK: Equinor’s H2H Saltend project given major boost as planning permission granted
One of the UK’s key decarbonisation projects, H2H Saltend, has been granted planning permission by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, strengthening its case in forthcoming Government competitions. Equinor’s H2H Saltend is a 600-megawatt low carbon hydrogen production plant with carbon capture, one of the first of its kind and scale to be granted planning permission in the UK.

Trinidad: ASCO secures major contract with bp for its Trinidad and Tobago operations
Leading material management and logistics provider ASCO has secured a five-year contract with bp Trinidad and Tobago. Under the contract, which came into effect at the start of the year, ASCO will provide supply base and pipeyard management services for the Operator across all 16 offshore locations in Trinidad.

Australia: First modules arrive for Scarborough Energy Project
The first three Pluto Train 2 modules for the Scarborough Energy Project have arrived in Karratha, Western Australia, marking a significant milestone for the project. Pluto Train 2 will be the second Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility and will process gas from the offshore Scarborough development.

Santos has announced its full-year results for 2023, reporting sales revenue of US$5.889 billion, EBITDAX of US$4.083 billion, underlying profit of US$1.423 billion and free cash flow of US$2.128 billion. These results reflect lower oil and LNG prices, and lower production compared to the corresponding period.

Finder has identified three large prospects (Brees, Favre and Brady) with combined 2U (P50) prospective resource potential of over 500 MMbbl of recoverable oil and is seeking a farmout partner to fund exploration activity.
