Ireland: SSE submits offshore planning consent application for Arklow Bank Wind Park 2
SSE Renewables has announced it is submitting an offshore planning consent application to Ireland’s planning authority An Bord Pleanála for the offshore infrastructure required for its proposed Arklow Bank Wind Park 2 project in the Irish Sea. This is the latest and most significant milestone in the delivery of SSE’s flagship Irish offshore wind farm project, which is being developed off the coasts of Wicklow and North Wexford.

Suriname: SBM Offshore reserves Fast4Ward hull for the Block 58 development offshore Suriname
SBM Offshore has announced that, in partnership with Technip Energies, and in line with the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) studies for a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO) for the development project located in the Block 58 in Suriname, a Fast4Ward hull for the development project has been reserved by TotalEnergies.

UK: Emerson downhole monitoring systems selected for Equinor’s Rosebank field
Roxar integrated monitoring technology will help Equinor develop the largest untapped oil field in the North Sea. Equinor has chosen Emerson to provide advanced well completion monitoring systems for its Rosebank oil and gas field development offshore UK. Startup of the Rosebank field’s first phase is planned for 2026-2027.

The first power has been produced at Viking Wind Farm on Shetland, which once fully operational will be the UK’s most productive onshore wind farm. The landmark moment comes after the final turbine was installed at the 443MW Viking Wind Farm in Shetland.

US: BOEM finalises environmental review of potential offshore wind lease activities in the Central Atlantic
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has announced the availability of its final Environmental Assessment (EA), which considers possible impacts from issuing leases for potential offshore wind development off the Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia coasts, including site assessment and site characterization activities such as geophysical, geological, and archaeological surveys. The EA concluded that there would be no significant impacts from lease issuance.

China: CNOOC Ltd makes major discovery in Western South China Sea
CNOOC Limited has achieved a major exploration breakthrough in an ultra-shallow gas play in the ultra-deep water South China Sea. Lingshui 36-1 gas field is located in the western South China Sea, with an average water depth of approx. 1,500 meters. The field has been tested to produce over 10 million cubic meters per day of open flow natural gas.

Taiwan: Jumbo Offshore wraps up monopile removal works in Taiwan
Jumbo Offshore has completed the removal of two monopiles on the Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) Yunlin in Taiwan. The Company carried out the work whilst deploying its DP2 Heavy Lift Crane Vessel Fairplayer from Europe to support the onsite operations.

Bahrain: Weatherford awarded drilling services contract with Bapco Energies
Weatherford International has been awarded a new five-year contract with Bapco Upstream, a subsidiary of Bapco Energies, in Bahrain to deliver Directional Drilling and Logging While Drilling Services, replacing the current Drilling Services contract that Weatherford was awarded in 2015.

Cote d'Ivoire: PGS begins depth reprocessing of Cote d’Ivoire 2D data
To provide better insight into the prospectivity of deepwater Côte d’Ivoire, PGS has started the depth reprocessing of almost 8,000 line km of GeoStreamer and conventional 2D data. The Côte d’Ivoire 2D PSDM reprocessing will provide improved depth imaging in the deepwater Ivorian and Tano Basins over unlicensed blocks.

Austria: Vestas wins 68 MW order in Austria
Vestas has received a 68 MW order from ImWind Erneuerbare Energie GmbH for a wind power project in Loidesthal, Austria. The order is an extension of the existing Loidesthal wind project that consists of eight V126-3.45 MW turbines. Turbine delivery is expected to begin in 2025 with commissioning scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026.

US: Technip Energies and Turner Industries awarded contract by ExxonMobil for Louisiana Carbon Capture and Sequestration Project
Technip Energies, in consortium with Turner Industries, has been awarded an EPC contract by ExxonMobil. The contract covers ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions’ plans for the delivery of a CCUS system that could condition, compress, and transport, for eventual storage, up to 800,000 metric tons per year of CO 2 from a manufacturing plant located in Convent, Louisiana, owned by North America’s largest steel producer and recycler.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate reports that as many as ten new mud volcanos have been proven in water depths of 440-480 meters in the western Barents Sea. Brazil: Shearwater expands its multi-client footprint, announces start of the Pelotas Basin 3D offshore Brazil
The Pelotas Basin 3D is adding to the company’s existing library in the conjugate Orange Basin of Namibia and is a continuation of the co-operation with joint-venture partner Searcher Seismic. The Pelotas Basin attracted significant interest in the recent 4th Cycle of the open acreage bid round and the project is supported by industry funding. The initial phase of the Pelotas Basin 3D will be 3,800 sq km, with a planned extension.

Azerbaijan: MVM Group acquires a stake in the Shah Deniz offshore gas-condensate field
Hungarian state-owned MVM Group has entered into a sale and purchase agreement with the Azerbaijani state-owned entity Southern Gas Corridor for the acquisition of a 5% stake in the Production Sharing Agreement for the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field offshore Azerbaijan and a 4% stake in Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company, established for the marketing and sale of natural gas produced from the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field.
