Det norske oljeselskap has permanently plugged and abandoned well 6507/11-10 in PL 476 as a dry hole. The well was located approx. 5.5km east of the Midgard Field and 30km south of the Heidrun Field. The objective of the well was to test the hydrocarbon potential of Middle and Lower Jurassic reservoir rocks (Fangst and Båt Groups) in the Frusalen Prospect. The pre-drill resource estimate for Frusalen was 14-96 million barrels of oil equivalents gross, with gas/condensate as the most likely phase. The planned TD was approx. 2,300 metres. The well encountered slightly thinner reservoir intervals than prognosed but with good reservoir quality.

Well 6507/11-10 was drilled by the drilling rig Songa Delta which will now proceed to PL 001B in the North Sea to drill an appraisal well on the Draupne structure where Det norske oljeselskap is operator.

Partners in PL 476 are Det norske oljeselskap (40%, operator), Lundin Petroleum (30%), and Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco) (30%).
