Brazil: BW Offshore approved by ANP as operator in Brazil and transfer of the participating interest in the Maromba field
BW Offshore (BWO) has announced that The Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) has granted BW Offshore status as operator in Brazil and approved the transfer of Chevron and Petrobras' participating interest in the Maromba field to BW Offshore.

Norway/UK: NPD gives consent for Equinor to start up production at the Utgard field
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Equinor consent to start-up of the Utgard field in the North Sea, which is planned for during autumn 2019. The field is located on the border with the UK.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted PGNiG Upstream Norway a drilling permit for well 6507/5-9 in production licence PL 838. The well will be drilled about 4.5 kms southeast of the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea.

Qatar: Seadrill in joint venture with Gulf Drilling International for Qatar Petroleum drilling contracts
Seadrill and Gulf Drilling International have entered into a 50:50 joint venture, GulfDrill, which will initially manage and operate five premium jackups in Qatar with Qatar Petroleum commencing throughout 2020.

Canada: Husky to resume full production at White Rose
Husky Energy has announced it will resume production from the remaining two drill centres shut in following the November 2018 oil spill offshore Newfoundland and Labrador. The restart of the North Amethyst and South White Rose Extension drill centres follows the safe resumption of operations from three other White Rose drill centres in the first half of 2019.

Norway's production increases in July 2019
Norway's preliminary production figures for July 2019 show an average daily production of 1,799,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate, which is an increase of 402,000 barrels per day compared to June.

Ireland: Europa Oil & Gas awarded 12 month extension to FEL 2/13, offshore Ireland
Europa Oil & Gas has been awarded a 12 month extension to the First Phase of Frontier Exploration Licence 2/13 (FEL 2/13) to 4 July 2020. Europa has a 100 percent interest in FEL 2/13 which is located on the west flank of the South Porcupine basin and includes the Kiely prospects and the Doyle Cretaceous channel complex.

Argentina: Equinor joins wind farm development in Argentina
Equinor has joined YPF Luz for the development of the Canadon Leon wind farm in Santa Cruz in Argentina. The wind farm will have a capacity of about 120 MW of power and a total investment estimated at around USD 190 million.

The primary objective of the well is to confirm gas volumes and demonstrate reservoir deliverability.

Norway: Aker BP makes small gas discovery near the Bøyla field in the North Sea - 24/9-13 and 24/9-13 A
Aker BP has completed the drilling of wildcat well 24/9-13 and appraisal well 24/9-13 A in PL 869, about 6 kms southwest of the Bøyla field. Both wells encountered gas and preliminary estimates place the size of the discovery between 0.6 and 1.7 million standard cubic metres (Sm3) of recoverable oil equivalents.

Norway: Cairn Energy farms out 10 percent interest in the Nova development offshore Norway to ONE-Dyas
Cairn has entered into a farm-out agreement for the sale of a 10 percent interest in the Nova development offshore Norway. ONE-Dyas Norge will acquire 10 percent the project by paying US$59.5 million plus customary working capital adjustments on completion.
